Gagosian presents Broadcast: Alternate Meanings in Film and Video

Broadcast is an online exhibition of artists’ films and videos that employs the innate immediacy of time-based art to spark reflection on the here and now. The exhibition is organized into a series of “chapters”, each of which is divided into sections inspired by Timothy Leary’s exhortation “turn on, tune in, drop out”. Chapter One features works by Chris Burden, Douglas Gordon, Damien Hirst and Angus Fairhurst, Adam McEwen, Richard Serra and Taryn Simon.

Camden Art Centre announces the launch of new podcast Camden Art Audio

The new strand of podcast programming will launch on Friday 22 May with a four-part series expanding on The Botanical Mind Online, and will include episodes on Plant Sentience, Plant Healing in the Amazon, Hildegarde Von Bingen, and Gaia Alchemy, as well as a new music commission by Kirk Barley.

Legendary art project do it launches new chapter do it (around the world)

Launching on Thursday 14 May, do it (around the world) is a new chapter of Hans Ulrich Obrist’s exhibition-in-progress, which for 27 years has tapped creative luminaries to share simple instructions for how to make an artwork that anyone can do.

Created by four international partners, the Serpentine Galleries in London, Independent Curators International (ICI) in New York, Kaldor Public Art Projects in Sydney and Google Arts & Culture, the project aims to connect people across the globe via instructions for DIY artworks.

ICP to hold the first virtual Infinity Awards

Since 1985, ICP’s Infinity Awards have celebrated and recognized significant achievements and emerging talent in the fields of photojournalism, art, fashion photography, media, and publishing. The 2020 edition, originally scheduled for April 29, will now be held online on Tuesday 19 May at 7pm. All proceeds from the virtual Infinity Awards will benefit ICP’s education and exhibition programmes.

Yancey Richardson Gallery announces the first artist Instagram takeover

Starting from Monday 11 May, artist Sharon Core will be taking over the gallery’s Instagram, reflecting on her career and sharing re-discovered works from her archive, which the artist has been organising since the beginning of lockdown.

The Gallery of Everything participates in Art Brut Global

Open now until the end of May, Art Brut Global is a three-phase online initiative from New York’s Outsider Art Fair. Featuring unique works from alternative galleries worldwide, this first stage presents canonical 20th century artists, from Adolf Wolfli to Martin Ramirez. The Gallery of Everything has contributed material by these two respected authors, as well as by James Castle, Aloise Corbaz, Madge Gill, Augustin Lesage and Carlo Zinelli.

The Gallery has also launched a twice-weekly newsletter with Focus series. Artist Focus and Artwork Focus will offer deeper insight into artistic processes, interpretations and contexts. Re-Focus will present a recollection of earlier gallery projects, shared through InstagramFacebook and Twitter.

Hauser & Wirth Launches First Virtual Reality Exhibition in its Future Menorca Space Using New HWVR Technology

The gallery’s first entirely VR-based exhibition under the newly launched research and innovation arm ArtLab opens on 30 April, with a group exhibition entitled ‘Beside Itself’. The exhibition will take place in the gallery of the future Hauser & Wirth Menorca, allowing visitors a first look at the art centre ahead of its opening in 2021. Visitors will be able to experience the exhibition created in HWVR, a first in virtual reality exhibition modeling, through the gallery’s website.

Hauser & Wirth presents DRAWINGS FOR DISTANCED FIGURES, an online exhibition by George Condo

The exhibition features a new group of drawings by George Condo which are related to his most recent painting series ‘Distanced Figures.’ Made during the last three weeks, in the artist’s home studio in New York state, these portrait drawings are evocative of the experience of isolation during this unsettling period of social distance.

Hauser & Wirth will donate 10 percent of profits from online exhibitions, including ‘George Condo. Drawings for Distanced Figures’, to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO. This is part of a new philanthropic initiative #artforbetter, through which Hauser & Wirth will provide charitable support to both global and local causes.

Lisson Gallery launches Spotlight Screenings, a programme of film and video works

Starting on Monday 30 March, Lisson Gallery will be showing exclusive and full-length single-channel films including video, documentary, digital and archival works.
