MUNICH GERMANY /Alberto Casas

Many things this situation is bringing us, for myself with the lockdown in Munich in early March I started doing an art series with the concept of what some aliens would think of the events happening on planet earth, just commenting, not really telling us. I started it as a rather optimistic series, trying to focus on the opportunities and revelations the pandemic was bringing us. In an early post for a similar blog like this I wrote this: (READ MORE)

THE coronavirus hit the world, the economy of entire countries and private pockets, also those with low incomes. New time to improvise new tactics, other ways to survive daily life. Depressions, hope, uncertainty, happiness, loneliness and more was my normal week. I dram of flying from one balcony to another, going through people´s windows and sharing a coffee, beer or tequila and getting to know them, jamming with them, helping them, all these imaginary voyages feelings I tried to put the in musical terms, melodies and songs.

I´m a Mexican musician and anthropologist trying deeply to understand and take a snapshot of this strange period of time and all the art that grew within these moments of happiness, frustrations, joy and introspection behind this four wall confinement. Through the concept of “Songs of Hope and Confinement” I would like to gather as many artists and their work around the world during the lockdown. My band www.radiominga.com

My first of many songs to come, “MUC Balcony Surfing”

Emma (6), Jelena (11) and Maurizio (?) An Italo-Serbian-German family started painting during the lockdown beautiful home art. How free and lively colors they apply to their artwork is amazing. Thank you for sharing!

GERMANY / MUNICH

Hi there, I am Tilmann and I am living with my family and a dog in a little house in Munich, where we spent our lockdown. Last year I quit the wedding band I was playing in and decided to go for something else. After initially thinking of buying an accordion I decided against it and got myself a synthethizer instead. With it I interpreted some of my own songs as well as some chansons which I translated into German. The lockdown allowed me to complete what I was working on and to eventually stream it. I recorded the best versions of that and put it on YouTube. LIST OF SONGS Take a look, it’s 6 songs in German with only synthesised sounds. I play everything live, achieved with a lot of looping. The name of this project is Manselber, German for Oneself.

take care, Tilli Idle P.S. Soon the Ivy will eat us all:
