Being a photographer has suddenly changed, or maybe it is the opposite, Iโm coming back to the essence, coming back to the feelings, the emotions behind taking photographsโฆ
Wild & Beautiful Portraits of your Soul is an Art project I started in Brazil a year ago with the intention of capturing the essence and emotions of women through portraits. In this new series โQuarantine Emotionsโ I am not just photographing the emotions, I am part of the emotions, as I am living a city Quarantine my self as millions of people in the World

I met Adri in New York in 2010, last time we met was about 3 years ago. It is complicated to meet when you donโt live in the same City, but this time was different, distance was not a problem, as now both are living in Mexico City, but life suddenly changed, a new word came to our vocabulary โsocial distancingโ .
.
Since we have not being able to meet, I invited her to do this virtual Portrait series together.
I got inspired by the work of my Brazilian friends @pupindeleu and started doing research about #virtualphotography but no technical tips helped me to feel confident about the idea of not being able to be physical present on the session. .
How could I connect not being there? Not being able to move around to choose the camera angle or lighting… .
Then I thought, I donโt care about the angles, lighting or the pixel quality, I am not taking “photographs” any way!! .
What I really want to do is to share my emotions, to do something creative, to be able to see and talk to Adri, to express my emotionsโฆ .
During the virtual session there were smiles, laughs and tears. I left my self go with the flow and just enjoyed the moment, the day and enjoyed to do what I love to do and connecting with our emotionsโฆ . . .

Isolation has played with my perception of distance. It doesnโt matter where my friends are, technology has brought people who are across the pond as close as someone who could be a block away. Theyโre all in my living room, where I do most things now… from rehearsals to writing and well, this photo shoot.
Thank you Rames for making me part of your project. In the quest for adaptation during this photo shoot and bearing honestyโs importance, we talked about frustration, gratitude and … frustration. Today I wonder if itโs possible to have one without the other, or if they come in pairs.
